Doug Wimbish presented WimBash at the NAMM Show, a free concert on Friday, January 22, 2016 held at the NAMM Nissan Grand Plaza Stage (outside between the Hilton and Marriott Hotels) in Anaheim, CA.
Proceeds from the event raffles benefitted the NAMM Foundation “Believe in Music” Fund.
The WimBash event featured a performance by internationally acclaimed rock royalty joined together as The WimBash All-Starz Band. This supergroup featured Doug Wimbish and frontman Corey Glover of the Grammy Award winning rock-funk band Living Colour, drummer Daru Jones (Jack White, The RUFF Pack), as featured on the July 2015 cover of Modern Drummer magazine, guitarist Paul Pesco(Hall & Oates, Madonna) and guitarist John McCarthy (Rockhouse) joined by pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph, 16 y/o blues guitarist Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, keyboardist Scott Healy(Conan), The Chops Horns (Sugar Hill Records, The Police, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera), vocalist Heather Joseph, (Chemical Z), Berklee College of Music sophomore guitarist Kyle Ward, Mike Golembeski (keyboards) and drummer/ percussionist Steve Cioppa with other very special guests including Mikki Sounds and Decora.
Hosted by the legendary Living Colour and Sugar Hill Records bassist Doug Wimbish and sponsored by Peavey Electronics, Rockhouse Method, Eventide, Stuart Spector Designs and Novasound Studios, the event featured giveaways and raffles, with proceeds donated to the NAMM Foundation “Believe in Music” Fund, which envisions “a world in which the joy of music making is a precious element of daily living for everyone, a world in which every child has a deep desire to learn music and a recognized right to be taught; and in which every adult is a passionate champion and defender of that right.”
